School Closure Reminder

We would like to remind you that due to Teachers’ Convention and Family Day, there will be no school tomorrow (Friday) and Monday next week.
The main office will be closed during this time.

Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 17.

Calgary Honor Band

Each year, as part of the Alberta International Band Festival, participating schools are invited to nominate up to three outstanding band students to take part in the Calgary Honor Band.

Students selected for this ensemble:

  • Prepare challenging, university-level music in advance
  • Participate in only three rehearsals
  • Perform at the Festival Gala Concert on Tuesday, February 24

We are proud to share that all three of our nominees have been selected to perform in this year’s AIBF Calgary Honor Band. This is a significant honour, and we know it will be a rewarding and enriching experience for them.

Student Services Update

Course Registration and Planning

As Semester 2 begins, students in Grades 10 and 11 have started planning for the next school year.

Last week during Trail Time, students received a presentation outlining:

  • Course registration procedures
  • Graduation requirements
  • Post-secondary planning

These presentations are available on the Student Services D2L page.

With the support of their Trail Time teacher, students completed:

  • A three-year graduation plan
  • A course selection sheet

The course selection sheet must be reviewed and signed by a parent or guardian and returned to the Trail Time teacher by February 18.

The second step in the process is for students to enter their course selections into PowerSchool by February 22.
Students who do not submit their selections in PowerSchool may not receive placement in their requested courses.

Students with questions are encouraged to attend drop-in support times:

  • 8:15 AM – 8:55 AM
  • Lunch time
  • Monday through Thursday
    in the Student Services Office.

Grad News

Yearbook Sales (2 Weeks Left)

Yearbooks are available for purchase through Jostens.

To guarantee a copy, orders must be placed by February 26, 2026.
Extra copies are limited and not guaranteed, so early purchase is encouraged.

Spare Stickers

Spare stickers for Semester 2 will be distributed in the Moyis and the Learning Commons during the upcoming week.

Students must bring their school ID, as spare stickers will be attached directly to it.
A spare sticker is required to purchase food from the cafeteria during a spare period.

Students who miss the distribution can obtain a spare sticker from the main office.

Survey Administration

Thank you to parents of Grade 10 students who have completed the Alberta Education Assurance Survey. The current completion rate is 8 percent.

The survey remains open until Friday, March 6.
Survey codes and links have been emailed to Grade 10 parents.

On Wednesday, Grade 10 students will complete the Assurance Survey during Trail Time.

Students in Grades 11 and 12 will complete the CBE Student Survey on Wednesday, February 18.
