Celebrations
Ramadan
The month of February will see the beginning of Ramadan for Muslims around the world. This sacred month is a time of reflection, compassion, generosity, and gratitude for the many CBE families and communities who observe it. The estimated start date was Feb. 17, marking a month-long period of spiritual commitment and community connection. It is an opportunity to deepen understanding, honour the diverse traditions of Muslim students, staff, and families, and to continue fostering welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environments for all (CBE Insite Page).
Pink Shirt Day
Wednesday, Feb. 25 is Pink Shirt Day! Pink Shirt Day encourages people of all ages to wear pink as a visible symbol of kindness and inclusion, and to spark conversations about why bullying is harmful and how we can prevent it(CBE Insite Page).
Robotics
The 4 Nighthawks Robotics Teams participated in the Calgary East Tournament that hosted 30 teams. All four teams performed exceptionally well in a highly competitive field. This event featured five of Alberta’s top ten teams from the four provincial tournaments, including the 8th-ranked team, NTHS 24124.
In Round Robin, our teams placed 5th (26145), 9th (24124), 10th (33517), and 11th (30645). Teams 26145 and 24124 made the playoffs but unfortunately lost early in the matches.
For awards, 24124 took home the third highest award (Inspires 3rd place), while 30645 took home the Reach Award, and 33517 took home the 2nd place Design Award.
Educational Opportunities
Student Exchange
North Trail is supporting student exchanges to Quebec, France, Mexico, and Spain for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Student submits to our liaison teacher, Ms. Dunsmoor – She will arrange a home visit and interview, complete Part II ,and submit full applications to Alberta Education
Interested Students Must Submit the Completed Part I to Ms. Dunsmoor by the Following Dates:
- Mexico and Quebec: February 27, 2026
- France and Spain: March 20, 2026
