National Indigenous History Month
All CBE staff, students, and families are invited to participate in upcoming city-wide events! Check out the Indigenous Awareness Week Calgary website for a list of celebrations and gatherings happening throughout the week of June 14–21, including a Powwow on Saturday, June 14 at the Elbow River Camp.
Student Invite | Indigenous Junior Police Academy
In support of Indigenous student well-being and achievement, CBE schools are encouraged to share this exciting opportunity with Indigenous students aged 12–16 and their families.
The Calgary Police Service is hosting its second annual Indigenous Junior Police Academy, a unique summer experience designed to give youth a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to be a police officer. Participants will engage with specialized units including the Mounted Unit, HAWCS helicopters, Canine Unit, and the Indigenous Relations Team. This is a valuable opportunity for Indigenous students to build leadership skills, explore future career paths, and connect with community role models.
Date: Monday, July 28 – Friday, Aug. 1
Location: Calgary Police Service (details provided upon registration)
Eligibility: Indigenous youth aged 12-16

4th Annual African Student Graduation Celebration
Action 4 Humanity invites CBE schools to share the 4th Annual African Student Graduation Celebration with students and families who identify as Black or of African descent. This event is made possible through partnership with local community organizations, including the Komkan South Sudanese Organization, Ethiopian community, Sudanese Social Club Association, Ghanaian community, and the Somali Community Association, Calgary African Association Collective and more.

All Sport One Day 2025
All Sport One Day is a fantastic, free sport discovery event designed specifically for children and youth aged 6 to 17. It offers a unique opportunity for young participants to try out a new sport or physical activity in a fun and supportive environment.
Whether your child is curious about learning a new skill or simply eager to get active, this event is an excellent way to introduce them to the world of sports without any financial commitment. By participating, kids can explore different sports, discover their interests, and potentially find a new passion, all while making new friends and staying active.
All Sport One Day 2025 will be held on Saturday, June 21 and Saturday, Aug. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
