Best times to watch:

  • Saturday: 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
  • Sunday: 9:45 AM – 11:45 AM
  • Sunday (if they make playoffs): 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Celebrations

Junior Girls Basketball Playoffs

Our Junior Girls Basketball team made it to playoffs! We would love for you to come and cheer them on. NTHS students will need their student ID and a toonie to watch the game -- PowerSchool schedules will not be accepted as ID. The game takes place on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 5:30 PM at Bishop McNally High School, 5700 Falconridge Blvd NE, Calgary, AB T3J 3N4.

Debate Regionals

On Saturday, February 21, North Trail High School hosted Debate Senior Regionals, welcoming over 300 participants from across the city. Debaters competed in four rounds, with the top six teams per category (beginner and open) advancing to Provincials in Edmonton this April.

A big CONGRATULATIONS to Saanvi Chugh and Calvin Tan, who won all four rounds and qualified for Provincials in the beginner category -- Saanvi also placed as the third best speaker. Eni Alagbe earned the title of top speaker of the tournament overall. Amazing! We may have another team qualify for provincials if additional spots open up.

Upcoming Events

Iftar

Iftar is the Arabic word that translates directly as "breaking the fast." Students are very excited for this opportunity to bring the Nighthawk community together in celebration. The event will be fully catered by Jerusalem Shawarma, Doughlicious, and Doughboy. Tickets are now sold out. Doors open at 4:30 PM and the program begins at 5:00 PM. Dress code is semi-formal or traditional attire.

Our Culinary team is also putting together a Nighthawk Bazaar filled with treats from around the world for a "build your own box" experience, available for purchase throughout the evening.

Educational Opportunities

Canadian Rockies Outdoor Learning Centre

North Trail has the opportunity to bring students to the Canadian Rockies Outdoor Learning Centre for two outdoor overnight programs this spring while earning credits. These programs are blended (a mix of online pre-learning and in-person outdoor-based learning) and involve three-day, two-night overnight adventures in the mountains. While these programs are an extension of the Outdoor Pursuits course, students not enrolled in Outdoor Pursuits are encouraged to inquire and apply if space is available.

If you are interested, please attend the mandatory parent meeting on Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00 PM in the North Trail theatre. Information Sheet
