Good Afternoon, Nighthawk Families
Students and staff took part in our first Nighthawk Palooza today, organized by Leadership classes and the Wellness team. During the event, students participated in the Terry Fox Run/Walk, played outdoor games, and built school spirit during the pep rally.
Thank you to all the students and staff who were involved in planning this event.

Next week, North Trail will be hosting our Meet the Teacher on Thursday, September 17. We look forward to welcoming families into the building from 6:00–8:00 PM.

Educational Opportunities
Global Languages Update
Bonjour and Hola from North Trail's Global Languages Program!
We are excited to be starting a new year of language skill development interwoven with cultural learning.
At North Trail, French and Spanish classes are vibrantly abuzz with students practicing conversational exchanges in the target languages. In the world at large, September includes various dates of interest related to languages, such as:
- International Literacy Day: September 8
- World Tourism Day: September 27
- International Translation Day: September 30
For students currently in Grades 11 or 12 who are interested in Spanish AP or French AP, and who are motivated, independent-minded students already able to understand, speak, read and write either language at an intermediate-to-advanced level, please discuss this special course opportunity with Ms. Dunsmoor.

Reminders
Annual Volunteer Registration Required for All School Volunteers
To ensure the safety and security of CBE students and staff, all volunteers must register with the school each school year before participating in volunteer activities.
The Annual Volunteer Registration Form is valid for the current school year only. All volunteers, including returning volunteers, must complete a new registration form each school year before participating in volunteer activities.
Parents and guardians can register as volunteers through the SchoolEngage tab in their MyCBE account. As part of the registration process, all volunteers must review the updated Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) requirements and sign to indicate their agreement with the conditions outlined in the form.
New this year: As an additional requirement under the new POPA legislation, community members who are not parents or guardians of a child registered with CBE must complete their volunteer registration in person at the school they wish to volunteer.
