Good Afternoon Nighthawk Families 

We have a number of events happening in our building this week. Please pay special attention to the information regarding our Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday.  

Celebrations 

Nighthawks Robotics 

During the summer, the NTHS Robotics Team competed at the First Champions Competition in Edmonton. They had an opportunity to compete against and learn from teams worldwide, including USA, Brazil,  and Jamaica. The 2025-2026 Nighthawks Robotics season kicked off this weekend with the release of the FTC game Decode. It is a ball shooting game that is both fun and challenging.   This year we will have 3 Teams playing the game: 

• 24124 Nighthawks North Star - Navy - Competitive team 
• 30645 Nighthawks Auroa - Purple - All girls team 
• 26145 Nighthawks Pathfinder - Green - Learning team   

Team events this year include: 

• October 17 Exhibition Scrimmage at Nelson Mandela 
• November 15 North Trail High School Meet 1 
• December 6 Pearson High School Meet 2  
• February 8 Nelson Mandela High School City Championships 
• May 20 CTS showcase  

Activities in the Building 

School Cafeteria Opening 

This week our school cafeteria will be opening for lunch service and light snack service in the afternoon. This is a reminder that, during class time, only students on a spare will be able to purchase food from the cafeteria. Students will need to show their School ID with their spare sticker to receive service. Please see this week's menu. Nighthawk Café Menu Sept. 15-19 

Terry Fox Run 

The NTHS community is finishing what Terry Fox started 45 years ago by participating in the Terry Fox Run on Wednesday, September 17 during Trail Time. Students will be running or walking a 1 km, 3 km, or 5 km route around the school and in the community to raise funds for cancer research. Our NTHS goal is to raise $1 for every member of our school community.  

Toonies for Terry will be collected in Trail Time prior to the event and Tap for Terry will be available with a minimum donation of $10. The link for the North Trail High School fundraising page can be found below. https://schools.terryfox.ca/NorthTrailHSCalgary  

Meet the Teacher Evening 2025  

The staff at North Trail are looking forward to welcoming students and parents into the building during our Meet-the-Teacher evening from 6:30-8:30PM on Thursday, September 18. This evening is for current North Trail High School students and their parents/guardians only. Parents, please be sure to review your teen’s timetable and teachers before arriving. A drop-in model will be used this year (as opposed to the mini-timetable used in previous years):  

Our event is intended as a meet-and-greet. It will be short and only offer general information. (Parent/Teacher/Student Conference will take place on October 20. Stay tuned for more information.) Also, please note, some teachers may not be present for the event as they are away with students at sporting and other events. 

Parking Reminders: Park in the student parking lot (first parking lot on the right) or surrounding community streets. Do not park in staff parking. Thank you.  

Student Services Updates 

Post-Secondary Visits 

The University of Calgary will be at our school on Tuesday, September 16 to give a presentation and answer questions. There will be one presentation for the grade 12 students from 10:30-11:45 and another presentation for the grade 10s and 11s at lunch.  

The University of Lethbridge will also be here on Thursday, September 18 at lunch for any students who want more information about their school or the admissions process.
