National Truth and Reconciliation Week

Teachers will be leading a variety of activities to raise awareness around Truth and Reconciliation. During the week, teachers will select one day in Period 1 to facilitate a 30 minute activity and sharing circle with students. On Thursday, our school will recognize Orange Shirt Day. Staff will also engage in professional development around Truth and Reconciliation at our PD Day on Friday. Meet the Teacher Evening (Update)

The staff at North Trail are looking forward to welcoming students and parents into the building during our Meet the Teacher evening on Thursday, September 26. The evening will begin with an opportunity to meet your child's Trail Time teacher at 7:00pm, followed by classroom teachers. Speak to your student about their daily schedules, so you know where to go for their Period 1, 2, 3, and 4 classes. In anticipation of this activity, students should be bringing home a copy of their schedule to share with you. The evening will end at 8:40pm. There will be Leadership students available to help you navigate throughout the building.

Terry Fox Run

Last Friday, NTHS students and staff participated in a 5km Terry Fox Run or 3.5 km Terry  Fox walk. North Trail is also fundraising for the Terry Fox Foundation. Our goal is to raise $1000. Please help in the fight against cancer by donating at https://schools.terryfox.ca/NorthTrailHSCalgary

Student Drop-off and Pick-up

While we understand that driving around the loop takes a few minutes, it is very important that we all adhere to the traffic laws that apply to all drivers.  Here are a few reminders:

  • U-turns are not allowed anywhere on our property.
  • Letting students out of or into your vehicle when surrounded by moving vehicles is unsafe.
  • As you are leaving the property and you have passed the stop sign and are moving towards Harvest Hills Blvd, you must not stop in one of our two exit lanes to wait for your student.  These two lanes are driving lanes only.
